Colombia: change in air pollution in Bogotá 2020
Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) is a gaseous air pollutant and has a direct connection to fossil fuel emissions. Changes in air pollution levels are related to a reduction in industrial activity and traffic circulation in urban areas, a consequence of lockdown measures enforced in Colombia in an attempt to limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The first case of the disease was reported in the South American country on March 3, and social distancing measures were implemented in the following week.
