Share of Sinovac's COVID-19 vaccine deliveries by country income group 2021
In 2021, the Chinese vaccine firm Sinovac produced almost 2.5 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines. More than 98 percent of all doses were delivered to middle-income countries. Although Chinese-made vaccines are often seen as practical alternatives to the more effective mRNA vaccines for poorer regions, only 0.36 percent of Sinovac's COVID-19 vaccines were delivered to countries of low incomes, reflecting the inequality of global vaccine distributions.
