Population of the CIS 2022-2028, by country

Russia had the highest population count among the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, at nearly 143.4 million in 2022, while the lowest figure was recorded in Moldova, at around 2.5 million. Between 2022 and 2028, the number of inhabitants was forecast to decrease in Russia, Belarus, Georgia, and Moldova. On the other hand, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan were expected to see their population grow, while Armenia's population was expected to stay the same.
