African societies who would have others as neighbors 2016-2018, by type of neighbor
Between 2016 and 2018, the majority of African respondents indicated that they would like to strongly, somewhat have, or do not care to have people who had different ethnicities other than theirs (91 percent) as neighbors. Moreover, while 87 percent of the respondents reported that they would like to live with people of different religions, 82 percent indicated they would do same with immigrants and foreign workers. On the other hand, only 20 percent of them marked that they would have no issue (including somewhat) having LGBTQ persons as neighbors.
