Aviva operational CO2 emissions 2019-2022, by scope
The absolute operational carbon emissions of Aviva plc steadily decreased in all three observed scopes from 2019 to 2022. Aviva plc is a British multinational insurance company headquartered in London, England, and is the largest general insurer in the United Kingdom. In 2022, the majority of Aviva's operational carbon emissions came from natural gas, fugitive emissions, oil, and company owned cars - accounting for approximately 8,526 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) that year. This was followed by business travel and grey fleet, waste and water, which produced around 4,869 tCO2e. Finally, the electricity, produced just over 500 tCO2e in 2022. Overall, Aviva plc has successfully reduced its operational carbon emissions in the past four years.
