According to a survey conducted in 2022, the most common action taken by U.S. online shoppers to receive assistance with returning a purchased item was to send an email requesting a Return Authorization code, with 36 percent of consumers resorting to this measure. Additionally, 32 percent of respondents reported using online chat for support, while 31 percent had to call a customer service agent.
