Greenhouse gas emissions in Canada have decreased while its economy has grown. From 2009 to 2021, Canada's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by an average of two percent per year. Meanwhile, the North American country's industrial greenhouse gas emissions decreased by an average of 0.2 percent per year. Overall, Canada's economy, as measured by real GDP, grew 26.3 percent from 2009 to 2021, while the country's industrial emissions fell 2.5 percent.
