Most popular radio stations in the Netherlands 2024

Commercial stations Radio 10 reached just 7.7 percent, while Qmusic reached 12.3 percent of the total listening volume in the country. Radio in the Netherlands is popular
In 2018, live radio was the most popular form of audio content in the Netherlands. Roughly 75 percent of all audio time was spent on radio. Music streaming services did lead to a decrease in the share of people who listened to radio (almost) every day, but this percentage was still around 60 percent in 2019. Especially teenagers seemed to be more in favor of music streaming, whereas traditional radio stations were more popular among Millennials and older the groups.
How many people use music streaming?
Exact user numbers for music streaming services are difficult to find in the Netherlands, as companies usually do not share this information in such detail. Panel surveys, however, can provide an indication. The latest numbers suggest that Spotify and YouTube both had 5.2 million users in the Netherlands, making up roughly 39 percent of the population each.
