In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, the French rail company Alstom generated sales revenue of just over 16.5 billion euros from its operations worldwide, which was an increase of about 6 percent from the fiscal year ending March 2022. Sales revenue overall had been steadily increasing since the 2015/16 fiscal year. In February 2020, Alstom announced the acquisition of Bombardier. In July 2020, the European Commission allowed this takeover, which will strengthen Alstom's market position, making it the second largest rail manufacturer behind CRRC.
