Share of flexitarians in the Netherlands 2022, by diet type
Cutting down on meat consumption is a widespread trend in the Netherlands. Several surveys have been conducted on meat consumption in the Netherlands, with recent results showing large-scale adoption of the flexitarian diet. 51 percent of Dutch consumers are flexitarians, the majority of which eat less meat unconsciously. In addition, 17 percent of consumers were identified as potential flexitarians, suggesting that a reduced meat consumption can be achieved with this group if they were made aware of the advantages of such a diet.
