Main return features preventing online purchases in Europe 2022, by country
Not knowing the return policy at the time of purchase is the top feature preventing European consumers from buying online in 2022, cited by 88 percent of respondents in the region's countries. Among French shoppers, nearly 70 percent expressed reluctance towards online shopping when having to pay in case of returns, versus 76 percent of UK shoppers surveyed. In addition, three-quarters of Germans said they were discouraged from shopping online by complicated returns processes, a similar proportion to Spaniards.
