Deaths attributable to nitrogen dioxide exposure in Europe 2021, by country
The highest number of deaths attributable to nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) exposure in Europe in 2021 occurred in Turkey, at approximately 13,000. That same year, there were more than 50 thousand deaths in the EU linked to NO₂ exposure above the 2021 World Health Organization AQ guideline level of 10 µg/m³.
