New passenger car registrations in Finland 2011-2023
During the last ten years, the automotive industry has experienced ups and downs in Finland with fluctuating numbers of newly registered passenger cars. However, the figures have remained relatively stable for the past few years until 2020. In 2023, around 87,500 passenger cars were registered, which represented an increase of 7.1 percent more than the year before.
Decline in the registrations of new diesel cars
While the sales figures of new passenger cars have remained stable in recent years, the same cannot be said about registrations of new diesel-fueled passenger cars, which decreased drastically in the year 2023. Registrations of new electric cars showed an opposite trend, increasing by nearly 28,800 units since 2018.
Tesla Motors leading as the brand with most electric cars in traffic
