There was, however, a significant change in March 2020 caused by the lockdown implemented by French authorities in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. While spending on manufactured goods dropped considerably that month, food expenses increased slightly. In August 2022, eregy expenses reached more than eight billion euros.
