Concern over Western sanctions in Russia 2014-2023

Approximately one third of Russians were much or rather concerned over sanctions imposed by Western countries on Russia as of March 2023. The share of respondents who were absolutely not worried about political and economic restrictions on their country increased by four percent from November 2022. Starting from the end of February 2022, sanctions have been imposed on Russia by Western countries over its invasion of Ukraine. Prior to that, Russia has been sanctioned for violating territorial integrity of Ukraine, violation of human rights, use of chemical weapons, cyber attacks, and supplying weapons to North Korea, Iran, and Syria, among other reasons.
