Germany was estimated to have the highest total costs from taking in refugees from Ukraine due to the Russian invasion that started in February 2022, at approximately 23.7 billion euros as of February 2024. Poland, which ranked second, was one of the countries that took in the most refugees from Ukraine. Czechia had the third-highest estimated refugee cost, at around 5.8 billion euros.
