In a survey conducted in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region on the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) imperatives in organizations, 45 percent of the respondents believed that workforce and culture issues were the main barriers preventing their organization from implementing an ESG strategy. In comparison, 36 percent of the respondents believed that the impact of COVID-19 was the barrier to ESG strategy implementation.
