Main commercial crops in Zanzibar 2014-2019
Seaweed was the main cash crop produced in Zanzibar, Tanzania's semi-autonomous archipelago. In 2019, the region registered a seaweed output of roughly 9,700 metric tons. That same year, Zanzibar recorded a production of 1,690 metric tons of cloves and 151 metric tons of clove stems.
