Share of employees in the agricultural sector in Ghana 2008-2020, by gender
In the period from 2008 to 2020, there was a notable decrease in the share of employees working in the agricultural sector in Ghana for both genders. While there were generally more men than women employed in agriculture, the disparity became more apparent in the latter years. By 2020, the share of women employed decreased by over 27 percentage points (from 48.57 percent to 21.25 percent), while the share of men only decreased by almost 22 percentage points (from 56.37 percent to 34.69 percent).
