In 2023, the total volume of avocados exported from Mexico reached over 1.2 million metric tons, and it corresponded to a total export value of around 2.8 billion U.S. dollars. This fruit is particularly popular in the United States at social gatherings and during special events such as the Super Bowl. In the four weeks leading up to the 2023 Super Bowl, Mexico exported over 107 thousand metric tons of avocados to its northern neighbor. Avocado is exported either whole, without skin or as guacamole.
