Travel and tourism spending share in European countries 2022, by type
In Europe, leisure spending represented the highest share of the total travel and tourism expenditure in 2022. In particular, leisure travel played a key role in Croatia, Luxembourg, and Greece, accounting for roughly 96, 95, and 94 percent of those countries' overall travel and tourism spending, respectively. On the other hand, business travel spending represented 42.5 percent of Ireland's total travel and tourism expenditure in 2022.
