Breakdown of consumer co-ops memberships in Japan FY 2021, by type
In the fiscal year 2021, about 77 percent of co-ops members in Japan belonged to a community based co-op. Community based co-ops attracted the highest share of membership population among all co-ops types, followed by health and welfare co-ops which had a membership count covering around 10 percent of the total membership population.
