Overnight stays for outbound trips from the Netherlands 2017-2020, by trip length
After declining slightly from 2017 to 2019, the number of overnight stays for outbound holiday trips from the Netherlands decreased sharply in 2020, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In 2020, overnight stays for holiday trips abroad reached around 101 million, more than halving from 2019. Overall, Dutch vacationers who traveled abroad for five days or more recorded the highest number of overnight stays in 2020, namely 94 million.
