Average age in Milan province 2012-2022
The mean age in the metropolitan city of Milan between 2012 and 2022 presented an increasing trend. In fact, from 44.1 years old at the beginning of the decade, the average age rose to 45.2 years old in 2022, 1.1 years more than in 2012. Furthermore, the aging of the population is confirmed by the share of inhabitants aged 65 years old or more, which significantly expanded during the same time frame. However, the metropolitan area remains under the Italian median age, corresponding to 46.4 years old for 2022.
