Can Viacom Turn Things Around?

Viacom Inc. (VIA), the owner of MTV, Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and BET, will be publishing its quarterly earnings on Thursday, November 16, 2017. Though there have been some positive developments under the lead of Bob Bakish, appointed CEO of Viacom since October 2016, the media company's numbers have not exactly been soaring. As the general trend goes towards watching shows and movies on media other than TV, US television networks and cable providers like Viacom are struggling with decreasing subscriptions. Viacom has come up with a turnaround strategy to tackle their shortcomings, now it remains to be seen whether Bakish's plans work out.
