The 'Boris bounce'

With a disruptive Brexit Party and a resurgent Liberal Democrats, the political landscape in the UK in and after the European Parliamentary elections in June was being transformed. In Theresa May's divisive successor, Boris Johnson, though, the Tories have begun to claw back some of the ground they have lost over the last few months.

Labelled the 'Boris bounce' by the media, the arrival of Mr Johnson at Number 10 has, according to polling by Opinium, led to a seven point increase for the Conservative party - and a 7 point fall for the Brexit Party. However, owing to Johnsons consistently chaotic style and his ambitious/arguably impossible goals, it may not be long before Westminster is given another dramatic shake up.
