Boris Johnson's popularity has grown despite Brexit chaos

Somehow, despite the deep political crisis he inherited and proceeded almost immediately to make deeper, Boris Johnson has become more popular in the eyes of the British public since he become prime minister. A few days before taking office, YouGov had his 'net favourability' (the share saying they have a favourable opinion minus the share saying they have an unfavourable opinion) at -27 percent. The day he set foot in Number 10, this improved to -21 percent, and is now at -16 percent after falling from a high of -12 percent last week. For comparison, Jeremy Corbyn has consistently been rated more negatively than the prime minister, jumping up and down between the range of -56 and -45 percent.
