Brazil's Daily COVID-19 Death Toll

International focus is starting to shift to South America during the coronavirus pandemic. With Brazil under particular scrutiny, the country just recorded its highest daily death toll due to COVID-19. As this infographic shows, May 19 brought an extra 1,130 recorded casualties - a large increase on the previous record. At the time of writing, Brazil has confirmed a total of 272 thousand COVID-19 cases - the third highest globally - and registered the sixth largest number of deaths at 18 thousand.
