According to a European Commission market study, European independent hotels that use online travel agencies also heavily utilize direct sales channels to sell their rooms. Almost nine in ten independent hotels that rely on online travel agencies to generate bookings also make use of direct offline sales channels. Among these, 84 percent also use direct online sales channels.
