Online travel platforms create jobs

An Oxford Economics study shows that online travel platforms kept generating jobs for the EU despite the detrimental effect the COVID-19 pandemic had on the travel and accommodation industry. In 2021, 243,000 jobs were created thanks to online travel platforms notwithstanding the pandemic, in spite of being just half the amount created in 2019. Online travel platforms also make other contributions to the European economy, such as generating GDP and helping to lower the average hotel room rates for European consumers.
