Admin and Events: Hardest Positions to Fill in Australian Hotel Industry

Findings from the 2025 Australia Accommodation Barometer show that there is a clear disconnect between hiring frequency and talent availability. In Australia, Housekeeping and food and beverage roles are identified as frequent hiring needs, however these positions are perceived to have wide availability in the talent market. In stark contrast, administrative support, event planning, and sales and marketing positions present the most significant recruitment challenges, all categorized as high scarcity roles despite being only occasional hiring needs.

This is an excerpt from the 2025 Australia Accommodation Barometer. The full report will be released on the 14th of January 2026 and will be available to download for free on the Statista website.
