Hotel Investment Big in Japan

While the 2025 European Accommodation Barometer signaled an economic growth plateau in the region, investment intent tells a different story in Asia-Pacific. Hoteliers in APAC show stronger plans to invest than those in Europe, with Japan leading all markets surveyed in investment intent.

According to the survey, 59% of Japanese hoteliers plan to invest more in the next six months compared to the previous six months. Australian hoteliers also show strong investment confidence, with 48% planning to invest more while only 13% expect to invest less. By contrast, hoteliers in the European Union and the United Kingdom appear more cautious about near-term investment.

The 2025 Australia Accommodation Barometer is the third study of hoteliers conducted by Statista in collaboration with Booking.com, surveying 250 accommodation executives and managers from across Australia. Click here to download the full report.
