Gun Control Measures

Clinton and Trump Supporters Differ on Gun Policies

Gun-control policies are probably among the most contentious issues in the United States today. It’s not surprising that the views held by supporters of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and the Democratic contender Hillary Clinton differ quite a bit on this matter too.

Both groups of voters seem to have an understanding that background checks are of a certain merit, as the Pew Research Center found out. But when it comes to registering gun sales in a national database the two groups start to diverge starkly.

The contrasting views on gun-related issues become clearest when it comes to attitudes towards military-style hardware, such as high-capacity ammunition clips or rifles devised to storm enemy positions. Most Trump supporters are against banning such devices.
