The EU's foreign citizens are at higher risk of poverty

Eurostat recently released data on the level of social exclusion and poverty faced by migrants in the European Union. In 2015, 40.2 percent of the non-EU born population was classified as being at risk of poverty and social exclusion compared to just 21.7 percent of the native born population. The biggest gaps between citizens of reporting countries and non-EU citizens were found in Sweden (45 percent), Belgium (44.9 percent) and Spain (33.7 percent). Read more in the indy100.
