What JFK's Country Did For Him

In one of the most iconic political speeches of the 20th century, at his 1961 inauguration address, President Kennedy told his fellow Americans to "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country". To mark the 100 year anniversary of his birth today, we've taken a look at what Kennedy's country did for him after his untimely death.

Often cited as the most popular post-war president, Kennedy is still held in high regard - not just in the U.S. but also around the world. There are 102 educational institutions, mainly public schools, bearing the late president's name, as well as 46 roads and bridges. Moving up to the more illustrious memorials, 'JFK' in one form or another can be found on two airports, a space center, a coin (half dollar), and an aircraft carrier - the USS John F. Kennedy.
