American Holiday Shoppers to Spend $61 Billion Online


The holiday season is the most important time of the year for both on- and offline retailers in the United States. E-commerce sales are expected to reach $61 billion during this year's holiday season, according to comScore's official holiday spending forecast. Mobile commerce is expected to contribute $7.9 billion to this year's total, which would represent a 25% jump over last year's mobile sales. comScore expects consumers to embrace holiday shopping this year, as the economic sentiment has recently improved despite stagnant real wages.
