Oropharynx cancer incidence rates worldwide in 2018, by region and gender
It was estimated that in 2018 there were 4.1 oropharynx cancer cases per 100,000 men in Eastern Europe and only 0.7 oropharynx cancer cases per 100,000 women. Most oropharynx cancer cases are due to human papillomavirus (HPV), which is the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide.
