On March 24, 2020, the government of Colombia imposed a nationwide lockdown to halt the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. Since the start of the quarantine until August 2020, 243 women were murdered on account of their gender in Colombia. August was the deadliest month, with 63 femicide victims.
