The average monthly consumption per person in Angola was estimated to be roughly 17.6 thousand Kwanzas (approximately 31 U.S. dollars). In urban areas, the expenditure was by far higher than in rural areas. In ruban Angola, it reached 22.1 thousand Kwanzas (roughly 39 U.S. dollars), while in rural zones it amounted to some 10.6 thousand Kwanzas (around 19 U.S. dollars).
