Prevalence of childbirth complications in the U.S. in 2014 and 2018
Between 2014 and 2018, the rate of eclampsia during childbirth increased from 1.1 to 1.7 per 1,000 pregnant women in the U.S. In comparison, the rate of transfusion as a birth complication decreased during this same time period. This statistic shows the prevalence rates of childbirth complications among adult women in the U.S. in 2014 and 2018.
