Opinion on Facebook and Instagram ban in Russia 2022, by age

Approximately one third of Russians fully or rather supported the decision of a Russian court to ban Facebook Instagram in the country at the end of March 2022. The lowest level of support was recorded among the respondents aged 18 to 24 years. After Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram were banned in Russia because Meta was claimed an extremist organization in the country. The ruling did not apply to the messenger WhatsApp, reportedly because it was not used to spread public information.
