Cyberthreats according to board members worldwide 2023

According to a 2023 survey of board members of worldwide companies, malware was the leading cybersecurity threat, with 40 percent naming it as one of the three major cybersecurity threats. A further share of 36 percent of the respondents found cloud account compromise to be a major cybersecurity threat in the following 12 months. Insider threat such as negligent were also among the most significant threats to organizations.

The source surveyed 659 board directors from organizations of 5,000 employees or more across different industries in 12 countries. 50 board directors were interviewed in each market, which included the United States, Canada, United Kingdom (UK), France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Brazil and Mexico.
