Ukrainian refugees host language proficiency 2022

Almost one half of the Ukrainians who fled to Poland in 2022 spoke the country's national language to a high or intermediate level. The share of those who had a profound knowledge of Slovak and Italian amounted to 35 percent and 30 percent, respectively. Most Ukrainians living in Germany, Estonia, and Romania reported having a low proficiency level of their host country's language.
