Insurance executives' views on global financial vulnerabilities 2023
In 2023, the banking industry was deemed the most vulnerable to financial cracks by senior insurance executives across the globe. The percentage of seasoned insurance professionals who believed that further financial cracks would likely occur in the banking sector was 56 percent. Many insurance executives also believed that defaults in alternative funds, residential real estate, and emerging markets were at a high risk of financial cracks, with around 40 percent of respondents citing these sectors.
