Taylor Swift AI global weekly search trends on Google by country 2024

In the last week of January 2024, global Google searches for the wording "Taylor Swift AI" skyrocketed, due to the circulation of nonconsensual artificial intelligence-generated sexually explicit images of the singer. The United States and Canada saw peaks of 100 and 80 index points, with the topic of non-consensual deepfake explicit material stirring news interest. China ranked third, with an interest index of 51. Generative AI and so-called synthetic media have been used in image-based abuse, as well as in child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
