Deaths due to dengue in Peru 2012-2024
From January to April 2024, the number of deaths due to dengue in Peru amounted to 162 cases. This figure is the second-highest number of deaths attributable to dengue in the South American country since 2012 and part of a recent outbreak recorded since the previous year. In 2023, deaths due to the disease amounted to 441. As of 2022, only 0.31 percent of individuals with dengue in Peru reported having severe complications, while the vast majority were asymptomatic.
