People treated for HIV/AIDS in Brazil 2010-2022
Antiretroviral therapy (ART) is a type of medical treatment used to restrict the development of a targeted virus and treat infections. This therapy is widely used in the management of HIV/AIDS disease. In 2022, approximately 730,930 people living with HIV received treatment with antiretroviral drugs in Brazil. This figure equals around 74 percent of the total population living with HIV in the South American country.
