Statistics and Facts about Deutsche Telekom & T-Mobile USA

Deutsche Telekom is a German based telecommunications company and a significant player in the global telecommunications market. Formerly part of the federally owned Deutsche Bundespost (German Federal Post), Deutsche Telekom was privatized in 1996 and has since grown to become the largest telecommunications company in Europe.

In 2011, Deutsche Telekom’s revenue totaled 58.65 billion Euro, which was down slightly from previous years. The number of Deutsche Telekom employees has also been reduced since 2009 and in 2011 there were approximately 240,000 employees around the world.

T-Mobile, T-Systems, T-Online and T-Home are all holding companies of Deutsche Telekom and have operations around the world. On the third of October 2012, an agreement was finalized to merge T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS. Since 2008 T-Mobile USA has experienced a slow but steady decline in revenue and this merger is intended to increase T-Mobile USA’s competitiveness in the American market. In the second quarter of 2012, the total number of T-Mobile USA customers stood at 33.17 million. Photo: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telekom
