Trump & Charlottesville: The Public Perception

A new poll has shown that the American public backs up the media's scathing critcism of Donald Trump in the wake of Charlottesville. According to the Washington Post-ABC News poll, 56 percent of Americans disapprove of the president's response to the violence at the white supremacist gathering, while only 28 percent approve. The rest of the respondents had no opinion.

When it comes to the question of whether Trump is putting white supremacists on an equal standing with their opponents, the response was more mixed. 42 percent said that yes to that question while 35 percent said no.
