According to the Pew Research Center, the Netherlands has the highest share of religiously unaffiliated in Western Europe at 48 percent of the population, followed by Norway (43 percent) and Sweden (42 percent). The share of people identifying as having no religion is lowest in Ireland, Italy and Portugal where it stands at 15 percent in all three countries.
